# Eight-step filter bass The SEQQ sets NTO pitch while the clocked GTS envelope closes a low-pass filter around each sustained note. ## Start here Lower the monitoring level before patching. These are documented patch designs, not claims of hardware audition. Unless this recipe uses the right Mix Pro for control voltage: center its DC offset, zero unused channels, and bring up only the cabled audio inputs. Connect Audio Interface MIX OUT to your normal monitoring chain. 1. Set SEQQ for forward stepping, narrow output range; tune a short phrase by ear. NTO starts in the bass register. 2. GTS upper: around 2 Hz with fast RISE. Lower: cycle off, fast RISE and decay shorter than a step. 3. VCFQ: audio range, Q modest, cutoff low. Increase VC F depth until the envelope opens each note. ## Cables 1. GTS XL upper END OUT → GTS XL upper TRIG IN. 2. GTS XL upper END OUT → SEQQ CLOCK. 3. GTS XL upper OUT → GTS XL lower TRIG IN. 4. SEQQ OUT (left section) → NTO 1V/OCT. 5. NTO SAW → VCFQ IN. 6. GTS XL lower OUT → VCFQ VC F. 7. VCFQ LOW → Edelweiss right Mix Pro IN 1. 8. Edelweiss right Mix Pro OUT → Audio Interface AUX IN. ## Listen for Repeated bass notes with changing pitch and a per-step bright attack. There is no VCA, so a little closed-filter bleed is possible. ## Play it Lengthen the lower FALL for overlapping notes, then shorten it for a plucked line. ## If it misbehaves No envelope: the upper MAIN OUT must cross the trigger threshold; use a full 0–5 V cycle, not a heavily attenuated signal. ## Module references - https://serge-modular.com/docs/GTS%20XL%20manual.pdf
