# Ring-modulated metal

Two audio signals enter the two different New Ring inputs. Their interaction produces metallic tones.

## Start here

Lower the monitoring level before patching. These are documented patch designs, not claims of hardware audition.

Unless this recipe uses the right Mix Pro for control voltage: center its DC offset, zero unused channels, and bring up only the cabled audio inputs. Connect Audio Interface MIX OUT to your normal monitoring chain.

1. Tune NTO in the mid register and GTS upper a little above it. Start both New Ring input levels low.
2. Turn the AM/RING control toward RING and raise the input levels until both signals interact.

## Cables

1. GTS XL upper END OUT → GTS XL upper TRIG IN.
2. NTO SINE → New Ring SIGNAL IN.
3. GTS XL upper OUT 2 → New Ring CARRIER IN.
4. New Ring OUT → Edelweiss right Mix Pro IN 1.
5. Edelweiss right Mix Pro OUT → Audio Interface AUX IN.

## Listen for

A continuous metallic texture. A harmonic-rich GTS carrier makes more sidebands than a sine carrier.

## Play it

Sweep the carrier slowly through the NTO pitch, then try a near-integer ratio.

## If it misbehaves

If you hear only the original NTO, check CARRIER IN and the AM/RING setting. This recipe is a drone, not an envelope-shaped bell.
