Notes
# Randomly pitched filter drops
A sampled voltage retunes the VCFQ between pings. Pitch changes are independent draws, not a random walk.
## Start here
Lower the monitoring level before patching. These are documented patch designs, not claims of hardware audition.
Unless this recipe uses the right Mix Pro for control voltage: center its DC offset, zero unused channels, and bring up only the cabled audio inputs. Connect Audio Interface MIX OUT to your normal monitoring chain.
1. GTS upper: 1–2 Hz with fast RISE. GTO left Stepped: cycle off, SMPL up, RATE fast.
2. Left Mix Pro: zero offset and a small positive input gain. VCFQ: audio range, Q high enough to ring, FREQ in the low-mid range.
## Cables
1. GTS XL upper END OUT → GTS XL upper TRIG IN.
2. GTS XL upper END OUT → Dual GTO left Stepped SMPL.
3. GTS XL upper OUT → VCFQ TRIG IN.
4. Dual GTO S/H source → Dual GTO left Stepped IN.
5. Dual GTO left Stepped OUT → Edelweiss left Mix Pro IN 1.
6. Edelweiss left Mix Pro OUT → VCFQ 1V/OCT.
7. VCFQ BAND → Edelweiss right Mix Pro IN 1.
8. Edelweiss right Mix Pro OUT → Audio Interface AUX IN.
## Listen for
A stream of plinks with changing resonant pitch. Very long rings can bend when the next pitch sample arrives.
## Play it
Reduce the clock speed and increase Q for isolated resonant events.
## If it misbehaves
If the pitch range is extreme, reduce the left Mix Pro gain before retuning the filter.
